TERMS AND CONDITIONS for NEW/NEVER USED Equipment:

Installation: All gas and electrical equipment must be installed by a suitably qualified engineer. It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure this is the case.

Delivery:
Items will be delivered to ground floor locations only. Delivery does not include unpacking, positioning or assembling items.
Delivery times vary depending on your location. We will use reasonable endeavours to meet delivery estimates in all cases. Although most items will be delivered to you within 1-3 working days we cannot guarantee delivery times for these products. Please note that the item may differ slightly in looks from the image shown in the listing due to continuous ongoing improvements.

On delivery, you must check your item before signing the courier’s delivery note. If you do not check the item and just sign the delivery note, you are acknowledging the item has been received in good condition. We cannot be held responsible for any damage you may find at a later date and this is an express condition of the sale of this item. Do not sign for the item “unchecked” as our couriers do not acknowledge this, regardless of what any delivery driver may tell you. If the item is damaged reject it – refuse to take delivery of it & contact us and we will have a replacement dispatched immediately. Items damaged must be reported on the day of delivery and must be made in writing within 24 hours from the time of delivery. Claims made outside this time limit will not be valid.

Warranty & Returns:
Please check (and double-check) your dimensions before ordering (for large items please check the size of your doors to ensure you will be able to get it into your premises) and read the description of the item, as we will have to apply a 25% restocking fee if any item is returned as unsuitable. A refund, exchange or replacement may be available within 30 days only provided items are returned unused, in a saleable condition and in their original packaging, but the restocking fee will apply.

Warranties do not apply to any defect in the goods caused by the fault, negligence or failure of the customer to use the goods for their normal intended purposes or failure to adhere to manufacturer instructions (including storage, use in incorrect environment, maintenance, de-scaling and cleaning).We may in its reasonable discretion invalidate warranties for any goods that have been or are suspected to have been altered, tampered with, serviced, repaired or attended to without our prior endorsement or approval. Goods are guaranteed in accordance with the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise stated. Goods reported faulty within the specified warranty period may be repaired, replaced or exchanged at our discretion.
Gaskets / door seals are not covered under warranty.

Any Order is subject to acceptance by ourselves. We are not obliged to accept any Order or to justify refusal of the same. Receipt of payment for Goods by us does not in itself constitute acceptance by us of the Order.

Occasionally an error may cause the price/description published or advertised for Goods to be incorrect, in which case we shall be under no obligation to honour the incorrect price or order. Unless otherwise stated, all prices quoted exclude Value Added Tax (“VAT”). Any such VAT shall be charged in accordance with the relevant regulations in force at the time of the Order.

 ‘Hire it Buy it’ Easy Payments

All of the above conditions apply.

If using ‘Hire it Buy it’ Easy Payments, please remember that you do not own the equipment until the final payment has been made. You must not remove any labels from and / or interfere with the hire goods, their working mechanisms or any other parts of them and take reasonable care of the goods and only use them for their proper purpose in a safe and correct manner. The customer must not repair or attempt to repair the goods unless authorised to do so in writing by ourselves. The customer is responsible for the goods as soon as they collect said goods or as soon as delivery has been made. The Customer agrees to take adequate and proper measures to protect the hire goods from theft, damage and / or other risks; if the goods are lost or stolen the customer will be charged the full purchase price.

If there are any problems/ damages etc during the term of rental, we must be informed immediately in writing. On no account should scouring pads or abrasive powders be used which could result in permanent damage to the equipment. Risk in the hire goods will not pass back to ourselves from the Hirer until the hire goods are back in the physical procession of ourselves. This shall apply even if we have agreed to cease charging the rental.

In the event of breakdown, we shall endeavour to repair/ replace the item with similar on condition that the customer informs the company as soon as practicable of the breakdown.

The minimum term of hire for NEW Equipment is 4 months. (If you wish to hire for less than four months please ask about our USED Equipment)

You must ENSURE FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE WHEN EACH DIRECT DEBIT IS DUE.Overdue payments are chargeable at 3% of the monthly hire cost PER DAY, and  £25 admin fee is chargeable if a Direct Debit is returned unpaid. In the case of breach of contract we shall not hesitate to take legal action. If the hirer shall make default in payment of any monthly sum payable or shall fail to observe or perform any of the terms and conditions of this agreement, the owner may without prejudice to his claim for arrears of hire or damages (if any) for breach of this agreement forthwith terminate the hiring without notice and retake physical possession of the said equipment himself or through his agents or seervants and the hirer shall not object to the retaking of possession of the said equipment by the owner or his agents or servants. No neglect, delay or indulgence on the part of the owner in enforcing any terms or conditions of this agreement shall prejudice the rights of the owner.

Payments:
Payment accepted by cash, Paypal (buy online from this site), visa, maestro, bank to bank (Bacs), cheque (payable to Geoff Rodgers Catering Equipment). Cheques must clear before payment is deemed to have been made.

The minimum term of hire for USED Equipment is 1 month. If you wish to HIRE ONLY and not buy the equipment then small Delivery and Collection charges will be payable (see below).

Used Equipment Hire only

Payment in full is required to be made in advance at the commencement of the term of hire. Each month hire must be paid for in advance. Goods must be available for return no later than the day after the rental term ends, otherwise customer will be automatically charged another month’s hire. Overdue hire payments are chargeable at 3% of the monthly hire cost PER DAY. If the item is not returned when agreed , this will be deemed a breach of contract and we shall not hesitate to take legal action. If the hirer shall make default in payment of any monthly sum payable or shall fail to observe or perform any of the terms and conditions of this agreement, the owner may without prejudice to his claim for arrears of hire or damages (if any) for breach of this agreement forthwith terminate the hiring without notice and retake physical possession of the said equipment himself or through his agents or servants and the hirer shall not object to the retaking of possession of the said equipment by the owner or his agents or servants. No neglect, delay or indulgence on the part of the owner in enforcing any terms or conditions of this agreement shall prejudice the rights of the owner.

It is the responsibility of the Hirer to check all Hire Goods immediately on delivery and to report any damages, faults, shortages or discrepancies to ourselves on the day of collection/ delivery. If there are any problems/ damages etc during the term of rental, we must be informed immediately in writing.

The Hirer is responsible for the Hire goods as soon as they collect said goods or as soon as delivery has been made. The deposit, less the replacement cost of breakages or losses, is returned only after authorised staff have checked the equipment (usually a day or two but in exceptional circumstances up to a week). If the Hire goods are returned in damaged, and/or defective state except where due to fair wear and tear and/ or an inherent fault in the Hire goods the Hirer shall be liable to pay for the cost (including all spare parts and labour) of any repair required to return to hire goods to a condition fit for re hire.

The Hirer agrees to take adequate and proper measures to protect the hire goods from theft, damage and / or other risks; if the goods are lost or stolen the Hirer will be charged the full purchase price. Risk in the hire goods will not pass back to ourselves from the Hirer until the hire goods are back in the physical procession of ourselves. This shall apply even if we have agreed to cease charging the rental.

If the deposit is not sufficient to cover these costs the Hirer is liable for the balance.

All equipment is dispatched clean and ready to use. The hire charges are based on the assumption that the equipment will be returned to us clean and dry. On no account should scouring pads or abrasive powders be used which could result in permanent damage to the equipment. If you wish to send back soiled equipment you do so on the understanding that a cleaning charge will be levied. The cost of cleaning service is 20% of the hire charge.

In the event of breakdown, we shall endeavour to repair/ replace the item with similar. If we cannot do this allowance will be made in relation to the rental to the Hirer for any non use of the hire goods due to breakdown on condition that the customer informs the company as soon as practicable of the breakdown. For example if a Bain marie is on hire at £100 for one months rental and there is a breakdown after two weeks and we cannot replace it with similar, a 50% refund will be made.

The Hirer shall not remove any labels from and / or interfere with the hire goods, their working mechanisms or any other parts of them and take reasonable care of the hire goods and only use them for their proper purpose in a safe and correct manner. The customer must not repair or attempt to repair the hire goods unless authorised to do so in writing by ourselves
